A new chat room,
Don Del Oro's Cave is
now available at this site. Let's test it out for
the next few days and see if it works! If you are
logged in to the forums, you should be able to chat
by clicking above, on the link posted on the
CHAT ROOM link at
left, or the one at the top of the message boards index
page, which now includes the "number of
people chatting" notice again. Yay! The new chat
room offers the options to include sounds and
avatars and shoot other chatters with disintegrator
ray guns while chatting also. Well, OK, at least two
of those three.
The Squadron is happy to announce we'll be working in
cooperation with the BYU Republic Pictures
archive to bring original Republic material
out of the vaults beginning in 2009. Don't ask us what
yet or how or when; that's all still to be worked out!
But when when we have something good to tell you, we
promise we'll tell you right
away!

What's an audio DVD? Well,
it's kind of like a DVD entirely composed of extras
that are audio-only. They hold dozens of hours worth of
material, and are great to play on portable DVD players
in the car or at home in your DVD player while you work
or relax! Many of the following titles have been
restored to the best quality possible, and all of them
contain 11-50 hours worth of content! The HORROR
ARCHIVE, a 5-DVD set, contains 220 hours worth of audio
horror -- that's almost 10 days worth of shows, if
played straight through!

THE PHANTOM EMPIRE
with period score, sepia/silver tones,
extras
"A lot
of restoration work was done on the [Serial Squadron]
PHANTOM EMPIRE serial [DVD], and compared to all other
prints, it really is excellent." -- "Laughing Gravy"
---- "I
recently finished watching Dr. Grood's reconfabulated
version of this serial. At the risk of starting the
whole debate all over again, IMHO the Doctor's
enhancements are just that - enhancements. I've sat
through Phantom Empire (Rhino edition) at least twice
but I never really enjoyed the film before. The toning
is all right but the number one enhancement has to be
the addition of the background musical score. The
insertions have been done with care as to what music
was used and even more importantly, when. For me
PHANTOM EMPIRE has been elevated from the ranks of
'barely watchable' to 'highly entertaining'. Thanks for
all the hard work [Dr. Grood]." -- Captain Canuck

"It's always a pleasure trading with you guys. Quality
product and quick efficient service. I always appreciate
the little extras you include on your restorations. I
especially loved the bull session you guys included on the
RETURN OF THE LONE RANGER serial. It reminded me of my old
convention attending days . . . Thanks again for your
efforts." --
