1912 Theodore Wharton makes his first film in Ithaca: Football Days at Cornell. 1913 Wharton returns to film with Francis X Bushman & Beverly Bayne and a full crew. 1914 Wharton Inc. is formed by Theodore & Leopold Wharton. 1915-1920 The Wharton Brothers lease their Renwick Park studio in Ithaca New York. They film the serials The Romance of Elaine with Pearl White and Lionel Barrymore, Beatrice Fairfax, featuring Grace Darling and Harry Fox, the supernatural series The Mysteries of Myra with Jean Sothern and Howard Estabrook, and Patria, featuring Irene Castle and Warner Oland. 2005 Ithaca-made Movies is formed to preserve, restore and protect Ithaca silent film history.
