Some special projects including the audio re-creations of THE VOICE FROM THE SKY and THE MYSTERY MIND, featuring Adrian Booth (really, in her final serial appearance), require payments to actors for new dubbing work. So does THE KING OF THE KONGO if that is to be dubbed and not just released with subtitles. THE CRIMSON STAIN MYSTERY will also require narration segments to introduce the serial and cover for missing content; we are thinking of recording the narrator on video as an on-camera “host” for the project.

A scientist uses the “secret of the air” to broadcast his voice across the globe and demand peace, but foreign spies kill him then pursue his daughter Jean to try to get the secret. She is protected by Jack Deering of the Secret Service and the phantom Man From Nowhere. The first all-sound serial, which had synched audio and limited release.

The images displayed here are frame-grabs from the original film print of THE VOICE FROM THE SKY and have not been seen in 90 years. The man by the rocks is Hal Taliaferro, and the woman pictured is Neva Gerber.

Her hypnotist fiancé tries to protect her from a terrifying array of freakish assassins, including a featureless man called “Phantom Face,” who are all subject to the control of the disembodied voice known as “The Mystery Mind.” The ambitious finale takes place in the temple of the Evil Eye in the South American jungle.
